Transform your photos with the NiSi Black Mist 1/8 Filter for NiSi True Colour VND Swift System. This diffusion filter reduces highlights and lowers contrast, creating a soft, pastel-like quality of light. It also softens wrinkles and blemishes for a more cinematic look. The nano-coating on this filter is waterproof and anti-reflective, making it perfect for any type of photography. Plus, it provides little loss of detail compared to traditional diffusion filters. Use it with the swift system adapter ring or add it to the NiSi True Colour VND 1-5 stops/5- 9stops for extra protection against light.

The NiSi Swift System works seamlessly with the NiSi True Colour 1-5 stop VND Variable ND filter allowing the capability to be expanded by adding extra filters simply by pressing them on the front of the NiSi True Colour 1-5 stop VND Variable ND filter. Adding the NiSi Black Mist 1/8 Filter for the NiSi True Colour VND Swift System, the NiSi True Colour 1-5 stop VND Variable ND filter is expanded to a 1-5 VND filter with Black Mist. Or use the NiSi Black Mist 1/8 Filter for the NiSi True Colour VND Swift System with the optional adaptor ring (Sold separately) and attach it directory to a lens. Suppress highlights and lift shadows.

NiSi’s Black Mist suppresses highlights and lifts shadows for well-balanced contrast. Light sources maintain a strong centre with a pleasing glow from the light source. Black Mist is for many applications. Not only for portrait photography, Black Mist filters can also be used in other scenes, such as night photography, landscape, and still life to create a cinematic atmosphere. Black Mist adds extra blooming and gradients to the highlights in your scene. Any direct light source will become more film-like, with a smoother, buttery texture around the highlights.

Stacking multiple filters can introduce vignetting when shooting with wider focal lengths. See the suggested focal lengths below to avoid vignetting.

Swift in Video Mode:

True Colour 1-5 Stops VND + 1 Swift filter = No vignetting at 18mm (Full Frame)

True Colour 1-5 Stops VND + 2 Swift filter = No vignetting at 20mm (Full Frame)

Swift in Photo Mode:

Vignetting can vary from lens to lens based on design, breathing and focus distance. These suggested focal lengths are a guide at infinity focus:
